Successful OOG Breakbulk Cargo Shipment: A Testament to Smart Marine Group's Expertise

We are delighted to share the success story of our latest Breakbulk project cargo shipment handling, adding yet another feather to Smart Marine Group's cap. This project involved handling an OOG (Out-of-Gauge) cargo shipment from Spain to the Maldives via Ennore port, showcasing our team's dedication, expertise, and seamless coordination.

Project Cargo Shipment Process Overview

The journey of this remarkable feat of handling the specialized breakbulk project cargo began three months ago, in April 2024, and concluded successfully on June 28, 2024. Here's a detailed look at the multi-modal transportation process involved and the details:

1. From Factory to Port in Spain: The breakbulk cargo was meticulously prepared and transported from the factory in Spain to the port.

2. Clearing the Shipment at Spain: Our team efficiently managed the necessary customs clearance procedures to ensure the breakbulk cargo was ready for international shipping.

3. Booking a RORO Vessel: We secured a Roll-On/Roll-Off (RORO) vessel to transport the breakbulk cargo from Spain to Ennore Port, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of the oversized shipment.

4. Transport to FTWZ Chennai: Upon arrival at Ennore Port, the breakbulk cargo was transported to the Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) in Chennai.

5. Customs Clearance at Chennai: The team obtained customs clearance at Chennai, allowing the cargo to be moved by road to Tuticorin Old Port.

6. Final Handover at Tuticorin: Finally, the cargo was handed over to the nominated barge operator at Tuticorin for the last leg of its journey to the Maldives.

Despite facing a few challenges along the way, the team managed to sort them out in a timely manner, maintaining a smooth flow of operations.
